Every July the same question fills travel forums: how do you get Naadam opening-ceremony tickets? The honest answer: the official online sale on enaadam.mn opens about a week before the festival, is announced on short notice, runs in Mongolian, and has sold out in roughly an hour in recent years.
A large share of seats is allocated to institutions and tour operators rather than open sale. For visitors, a tour package with an allocated seat is the one reliable route — expect $350–450 including transfers and a guide, against a face value of roughly $28–43.
Do not buy from street scalpers, where markups run 3–10× and fakes circulate. And remember the free festival: the parade, all archery and shagai, and every horse race need no ticket at all.
